Ruben Fleischer Making His Pizza Guy Caper Comedy This Summer
There's been a lot of talk in the last few weeks about what would be next for Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer-- at one point he was in line to direct Mission: Impossible 4, and just two weeks ago we got news that DreamWorks had picked up his original buddy cop idea.
But before that happens, he's going to deliver pizzas with Danny McBride. Production Weekly reports that Fleischer will start filming 30 Minutes or Less this summer in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with Danny McBride in talks to star as a pizza guy caught up in some kind of crime caper. The movie sounds way, way more in the Zombieland wheelhouse than something like Mission: Impossible 4, and while Fleischer seems like a director who can do anything, a more moderate step up for his second film isn't a bad plan.
Now the only stumbling block is getting Danny McBride, who seems pretty much perfect for the role, on board. Beyond that I don't see how this could possibly go wrong.
