Ruby Sparks Will Appear On Blu-ray In October

Fox Searchlight’s poignant and sometimes funny romantic film, Ruby Sparks is coming to Blu-ray and DVD on October 30. The film, about a man who writes about a potential love interest only to have her appear, just recently left theaters, but if you missed the flick (or loved it), Fox Home Entertainment is putting together a pretty nice set for fans.

Paul Dano apparently likes struggling with the idea of being literary. Earlier this year, the actor played a wannabe writer working in a homeless shelter and dealing with dad issues in Being Flynn. Then he hopped to Ruby Sparks, where he played another wannabe writer, this time creating a character who appears in real life. Ruby Sparks is a magical little story about the relationships people form and the decisions people must make as they grow up. The movie didn’t have a great showing during it’s theatrical release, but as it is a fun and thought-provoking film, I would highly suggest it.

If you are planning on buying the film, the Blu-ray copies will come with a few intriguing extras that DVD copies won’t have. These extras are a cast featurette and a second featurette looking into the ‘character’ of Los Angeles. However, if you do decide to roll with a DVD copy with this release, there will be plenty of extras to invest in, as well.
