Ruffalo Becomes A Goodfella![]()
Mark Ruffalo is an extremely charming guy who finds his way into movies far beneath his caliber. The recent Just Like Heaven is a prime example of that. Even on the poster, the guy is tiny and standing off to the side, so that Reese's head can be blown up to the size of the moon. Give Ruffalo some love, ya'll. He's got another You Can Count On Me somewhere in him.
Who knows if this will be it or not. According to Variety, Ruffalo will star in the upcoming movie The Brass Wall, based on the book by New York Times reporter David Kocieniewski. The book is about an undercover cop that is brought into the Lucchesi crime family, to help solve the murder of a city firefighter. He discovers that the tipster was the son of a high-ranking police official. Ruffalo will play the cop who cracks the case and gets to play hero for the day. Phoenix Pictures has optioned the book, with Mike Medavoy and Arnie Messer producing. I think there's been more than enough corrupt cop and mob movies to last a few lifetimes, but hopefully they'll add a new spin to it. Maybe Mark will even get extra lucky and appear in more than 1/12 of the poster. |
