Yesterday marked the release of J.J. Abrams' Star Trek reboot onto DVD and Blu-ray, and with that increased interest in the property this week I feel like I should report on every little piece of rumor I happen to hear. Let me start by saying, nay, yelling just one word to all you Trekkers out there...
KHAAAAAAAN!!
Let it be known that this all kinds of just a rumor. There's no script yet and there's certainly no casting, but if the most famous Star Trek villain is to see a reincarnation in the updated franchise, Comingsoon.net is hearing that they've already got a favorite picked out for the role. And it's none other than that slippery foe Richard from Lost, Nestor Carbonell, or as I lovingly refer to him, Eyeliner Guy.
Abrams has worked with Carbonell before on the series, so importing him into the Star Trek universe is an easy pick. Just slap a sweet grey mullet on him and give him some Beyond Thunderdome wardrobe and you've got yourself a villain. Again, this is born from the rumor mill, but hopefully we'll see this pan out and soon.
