Russell Crowe Dresses Up As Superman's Dad In New Man Of Steel Set Photos
With the exception of the "S" on his chest, Marlon Brando didn't really look a whole lot like the father of Superman in Richard Donner's original film. All white with a bathrobe and baggy pants, the outfit bared no resemblance to the skintight, red, blue and yellow number that the Man of Steel wore when he arrived on Earth. Though that same look was carried over when both Terrence Stamp and Julian Sands played the character on the television series Smallville, apparently it won't stay the same for Zack Snyder's reboot of the franchise.
The Daily Mail has posted a few images of Russell Crowe on the set of Man of Steel dressed head to toe in his Jor-El costume. Check out a couple of the photos below and head over to the source for the rest.
What's interesting about this costume is that if you were to remove the outer robe-like layers it would probably look exactly like the new Superman suit. Both have the same color blue, tightness and gauntlets. Considering that they will be doing the origin story again, perhaps we'll get a new understanding of how Supes got his suit.
Starring Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Antje Traue, Ayelet Zurer , Russell Crowe, Harry Lennix, and Christopher Meloni, Man of Steel is currently in production and will be released on June 14, 2013.
