Ryan Gosling Twirls A Gun, Is Really Ridiculously Good-Looking In New Gangster Squad Set Photos

Fair warning: these photos from the set of The Gangster Squad aren't that different from the ones we featured a few weeks ago and in fact, may have been taken the same day of shooting. But if you've been looking for a good reason to gaze at Ryan Gosling and wonder how the earth has created such a ridiculously good looking creature, you've come to the right place. He's still wearing 40s era suits and fedoras, he's still looking perfectly coiffed, but this time he's smoking a cigarette and twirling a gun on his finger. Like a boss. Check out a handful of them below, and the rest at Digital Spy.

As you can clearly see in that last one, he's also beating the shit out of a guy like a boss-- which is interesting, given that he's supposedly playing the hero in this story of corruption and gangsters strewn among the LA Police Department in the 1940s. I suppose when you're dealing with dirtbags, though, you've got to have a few dirtbag tendencies of your own in your back pocket. Gangster Squad is directed by 30 Minutes or Less and Zombieland's Ruben Fleischer, and in addition to Gosling boasts one of the most absurdly strong casts you can imagine-- Emma Stone, Sean Penn, Josh Brolin, Anthony Mackie, Nick Nolte, Michael Pena, Giovanni Ribisi and Robert Patrick round things out. There's even a few of them who might look as good as Gosling does in a fedora.

The movie was recently scheduled for a prime release date of October 19 next year, which means Warner Bros. is enthusiastic about the movie's prospects. Not that we needed any bigger reason to look forward to this than Ryan Gosling's elegantly pleated khaki pants, but Gangster Squad is already looking like an easy must-see pick.
