You couldn't really say that Jimmy Olsen is Superman's sidekick, given the vast differences between their powers and interests and all that. But you could probably say Jimmy Olsen would want to be. Well, now he's kinda getting his wish. Sam Huntington, who played Olsen in Superman Returns, will play the sidekick to Brandon Routh's character in Dead of Night, a zombie thriller currently shooting in New Orleans.

Routh, of course, played the Man of Steel in 2006, and presumably he and Huntington got along well enough back then to team up this time around. IESB reports that Huntington will play the sidekick to Routh's character, an investigator named Dylan Dog who finds himself in an underground world of vampires, werewolves and the undead. I like Huntington and hope the sidekick role suits him-- at least better than his awkward part in Fanboys that is.
