Like many of us here at Cinema Blend predicted, Bond 23 has persevered despite the dire financial straits MGM was in for the majority of 2010. The project was announced dead, tabled indefinitely, kaput, but of course something as big as Bond won’t go down that easily, and neither will MGM.

Yesterday, Bond 23 composer David Arnold let slip that the film was 100% back on track and The Daily Mail has it from the mouth of Kate Winslet that filming will begin towards the end of next year. Winslet tells them that she’ll be moving from New York to London where the film will be shot so that Mendes, Winslet’s ex-husband, doesn’t have to commute back to the States to see his kids. If all separations went this smoothly, the world would be a better place.

Of course, Bond 23 will be a big time production and with it not starting until late next year, don’t expect to see this one until Holiday 2012 or Spring 2013. The good news though is that this film is getting made and we can all stop worrying about not ever seeing Daniel Craig emerge half naked from the ocean again. Now that would have been a tragedy.
