For those of you who thought Drag Me To Hell was a sign that Sam Raimi might stick with doing horror movies for awhile: bad news. He’s working for Disney, where they take a dim view of demon curses and stapling old ladies in the eye.
HR says he’s headed over to Mickey’s place to produce a movie called Transplants. It’s a comedic superhero movie, described as a four part ensemble. Worse, it’s written by the guys responsible for Not Another Teen Movie. Specific story details are sparse, but this sounds like the kind of project that’s really beneath the talent of someone like Raimi.
This is the first time Raimi has ever worked for Disney, probably because he’s edgy and interesting while Disney is generally either bland or animated. Must be one hell of a script, because otherwise this partnership makes absolutely no sense.
