Sandler Teams Up With Spade, James, And Rock![]()
Adam Sandler is known for using his movies as a way to employ his buddies, it’s just that usually he only brings his less famous buddies in on the fun. But for one of his next movies, an untitled project being produced by Happy Madison, he’s gathering together his most famous friends to form the ensemble core of a high school reunion flick.
Variety says Adam will co-star with Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade, and obligatory Sandler polyp Rob Schneider in a movie about five former best friends from high school who reunite 30 years later over a Fourth of July weekend. Odds that dangerous hijinks with fireworks will be involved? I’d say almost certain. James and Sandler have worked together before of course, on their gay for pay movie Chuck and Larry. Sandler and Rock worked together on The Longest Yard. But Sandler, Spade, Schneider, and Rock, all four at once, haven’t been seen together since their days on Saturday Nights. I hope Lorne Michaels doesn’t get involved. We don’t need another Night at the Roxbury bud. It’s a killer comedic cast, though Spade is long past his days of box office draw and Chris Rock, while perhaps the greatest living standup left on the planet, is pretty terrible whenever he tries to act. Maybe Sandler will rub off on him. I can’t believe I just said that. Hey Sandler can act, when he wants to. Chris could learn a thing or two. Note to Chris: It’s not acting if you deliver your lines like you’re reading off cue cards. |
