Sandra Bullock is set to do yet another banal, boring, rom-com. Variety says it’s called The Proposal, and it’s being executive produced by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, which is sort of weird when you consider that they’re best known for making action and sci-fi movies like Mission Impossible III, Transformers, and Star Trek. Maybe there’s a chance that Sandra could be launched into space? We can dream.

The movie itself seems to have very few opportunities for fiery explosions of rocket fuel to be worked into it. Peter Chiarelli’s script is about a demanding female, Canadian boss faced with being deported back to the Great White North. She agrees to a sham marriage with her young, male assistant to stay in the United States. Don’t expect any heady commentary on America’s immigration problem.

I think it’s pretty clear at this point that Sandra Bullock just doesn’t care about her career. Her role in Crash was just a fluke. She’s perfectly content to make garbage movie after garbage movie. It’s a wonder she hasn’t already made Miss Congeniality 3. Come on Sandra, why not? It couldn’t possibly be worse than the second one. Please, someone, save this woman’s career before we all forget why she used to be good. She was good at some point, wasn't she?
