Everyone's favorite actor on talk like a pirate day has landed a job pretending to work for the CIA. New Line has hired Peter Sarsgaard to star alongside Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon in Tsotsi director Gavin Hood's new movie Rendition, according to Variety.

The Kelley Sane scripted film follows a CIA operative around the Middle East as he starts questioning his assignment after watching secret police grill a suicide bombing suspect. Hopefully they'll also explain how a suicide bombing can have suspects. Don't the suspects usually end up dead? Hence the word "suicide" right before bombing.

For Sarsgaard's sake I want it to be good. He seems to be in a rut where he just misses great roles. Jarhead was good, but not that good. He was good in Flightplan, but the ending made the movie a turd. He was brilliant in the equally brilliant movie Kinsey, but ultimately overshadowed by the work of Liam Neeson and Laura Linney. Even in Garden State all anyone could talk about was Zach Braff and Natalie Portman. The movie's soundtrack got more mentions than his performance did.

Peter deserves a great role in a great film. He's not far off from an Oscar if he ever finds the right part. Perhaps a pirate sequel with a certain Mr. Depp?
