According to Variety, Scarlett Johansson has expressed interest in playing a gladiatrix from 200 BC. The film, Amazon will be financed by Moshe Diamant's Signature Pictures.

The actress herself came up with the idea and shared it with writers Alex Kurtzman and Boc Orci while filming The Island. They have now signed on to Amazon as producers. You've got to give credit to the girl, for not letting such a critical and financial lashing stop her from leaving all traces of that movie in the dust. Maybe she's got elements of an Amazon woman after all.

While timewarping back to 200 BC, Scarlett will take revenge against an army that destroyed her homeland. Think Troy, but with cuter outfits. Dirk Blackman and Howard McCrain will write the script."This will be a movie that falls between 'The Wild Bunch' and 'The Seventh Samurai,” Blackman said to the press.
