I already warned you guys that Red, starring Morgan Freeman and Bruce WIllis, is not a spinoff of The Shawshank Redemption starring Freeman's character Red. So don't be disappointed when I tell you that Time Traveler's Wife director Robert Schwentke, not Frank Darabont, wants to direct the film. It's a different movie, remember?

According to THR Schwentke is in negotiations to direct the thriller, a spy film about a former black-ops agent forced out of retirement by an assassin. Before going all romantic with Time Traveler's Wife, Schwentke made the Jodie Foster thriller Flightplan, which indicates he'll probably be able to handle some tension and old-fashioned ass-kicking.
