The second trailer for Beowulf, Robert Zemeckis’s attempt to make computer animated movie for adults, is here. The film uses motion-capture technology, like that used on The Polar Express, to capture the movements and performances of actors and turn them into computer animated characters. Thankfully, Beowulf seems to have licked the creepiness problem that plagued Polar by putting everything in shadows and setting it to rock music. Now the animation is no longer creepy, it’s just kind of edgy.
The film’s trailers just keep looking better, and this second spot is by far the best yet. Get moving, and watch it right now by clicking here.
Beowulf, as its name suggests, is based on the same-named epic poem about a warrior who rises to greatness by defeating the monster Grendel, facing Grendel’s revenge-bent mother, and eventually becoming a king. Look for it in theaters November 16th.
