Adrien Brody’s sci-fi thriller Splice has a new trailer and it’s freakier than ever. In it Brody and Sarah Polley star as a pair of genetic engineers who go too far when they splice human DNA together with that of other animals to create some sort of freakish monster. They call it Dren and it starts growing and learning at an accelerated rate until, predictably, things go horribly wrong.
The trailer’s pretty scary and a lot of the credit for that goes to the folks behind the absolutely twisted creature design. They’re using the Uncanny Valley to good effect here, creating something that’s human but not really and as a result scary as hell. Watch the trailer below:
