Marvel Studios has dominated much of movie conversation this year with the worldwide sensation The Avengers spurring fandemonium, stimulating shawarma sales, and making audiences eager for any word on the studio's upcoming titles. But while Marvel has been dropping hints on Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, they've been incredibly tight-lipped about another potential Avengers spin-off: Ant-Man.

At Comic Con this year, Marvel Studios reignited fan fervor for Edgar Wright's long-developing Ant-Man movie by screening rumored test footage. Strangely, the unfinished scene that featured a CGI Ant-Man and still contained blue screens and wires was all that Marvel revealed about the could-be picture. There was no mention of who would play Ant-Man, when the film might come out, or even where the project might fit on Marvel's production slate.

While this buzzed about test footage hasn't surfaced, a dedicated fan and gifted artist who goes by Samurai Jack on Deviant Art has created a storyboard, that animated by Youtube user Shartimus Prime gives those who didn't make it into Hall H that day a good idea of what they missed. Check it out below:

Even in this admittedly rough representation, you can get a feel for the energy and imagination that Wright has in mind for the proposed picture—though the addition of a punchy score here wouldn't have hurt. Regardless, Ant-Man will have to wait, as Wright is currently filming the apocalypse comedy The World's End, which reunites Simon Pegg and Nick Frost as two buddies who set out on an epic pub crawl as the world as we know it crumbles around them. Hopefully after that wraps, we'll get more details on Ant-Man, or at least the promise that'll he'll pop up in The Avengers 2.
