Normally when a movie stars a former American Idol contestant that's a sign that it's going to be pretty bad. But what if that movie is directed by Bill Condon?

Condon's (Kinsey) next movie is Dreamgirls, a movie adaptation of the Tony Award winning play of the same name. Yes, it stars a former American Idol loser, but it's also got Jamie Foxx, Eddie Murphy, Danny Glover, and Beyonce Knowles to balance things out.

We've just received the first official photo from Dreamgirls, which began production just this week. Along with the pic of the girls in wigs comes a video, pumping up the impending film by using the voice guy from Back to the Future. Pretty cool. It seems a bit early to start marketing, but why not.
