Here’s a scary thought. Somewhere out there there’s someone who watched The Dukes of Hazzard movie and thought: Hey, that Jessica Simpson is such a great actress she needs her own movie! This someone, whoever it is, either had a lot of money or knew how to blackmail the right people, and made it happen. The result is Blonde Ambition, Jessica Simpson’s first lead role in a movie built around her.
The first trailer is out and it looks like your pretty standard, horrible small-town girl moves to the big city, stumbles into a job she’s not qualified for because she’s incredibly hot, meets sexy guy, makes good story. Actually, this may be the worst movie trailer I’ve ever seen. It plays like the refuse of a bad 80s movie. If this were 1984 it would probably star Bette Midler and Lilly Tomlin, both of whom would be a considerable upgrade over Simpson, who, cannot act. Not at all. I think we’ve officially reached the moment where Jessica Simpson’s hotness is completely cancelled out by her total lack of talent. Speaking of bad movies, is there any movie Luke Wilson won’t do? It’s not like he needs the money. Seriously Luke, you’re so much better than this.
