In August of 2009 Meryl Streep and Amy Adams will show up in a strange little movie called Julie & Julia together in which Meryl plays now deceased TV chef Julia Child, Amy Adams’ cooking spirit guide. Amy plays a woman who decides to cook all of the famous chef’s recipes, and important lessons about life and good proper broth are learned. I think.
The point is, it sounds incredibly interesting and even though it’s still months away from release the movie has a lot of positive buzz. There are even rumors that the movie was intentionally pushed to an August release date, to give it a better shot at winning Oscars next year.
Sony has just handed us three images from the film. It’s a great way to get a close-up look at how well Meryl manages to mimic her eccentric, real life cooking character. Take a look:
