Studios were terrified for years to put anything up against the Saw franchise during Halloween time. Then, last year, a tiny shoe-string budget flick called Paranormal Activity proved to be David in the fight against Goliath, trouncing the long-running series in its opening week by $7 million. The way the film gained steam was by only releasing it in areas that requested it and now, with Paranormal Activity 2 set to drop this October, they are bringing back that idea with a sweepstakes.

Paramount Studios has issued a press release that they will be beginning a Demand It campaign for the film. Beginning at midnight tonight (which time zone isn't specified), you'll be able to send in requests to see the film for free in your home town at 11:59 pm on October 20th, two days before the film's wide release. "Demand” That Your City is One of the Top 20 to Win A First Look At the Eagerly Awaited Next Installment

HOLLYWOOD, CA (September 16, 2010) – Paramount Pictures will debut PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 2 for the fans that “Demand” to see it first. The Demand it!® campaign launches at midnight tonight, and the first 20 cities with the highest “demands” for the movie will be invited to attend a free screening on Wednesday, October 20th at 11:59 pm, before the film’s nationwide release.

“The support of the online community was phenomenal on the first film. We want to reward them for that support by offering them the chance to see it first,” said Rob Moore, Vice Chairman of Paramount Pictures.

Dread Central is calling PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 2 “The most anticipated horror event of the year,” and Bloody Disgusting states, “If the first one gave you nightmares, PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 2 looks to induce night terrors!”
