See Seven Minutes Of Get Smart![]()
The first reviews are floating in for Steve Carell’s Get Smart and they aren’t as pretty as you might like. I’m still holding out hope for the movie though. Carell seems like the perfect pick for Maxwell Smart and there really isn’t any movie I wouldn’t enjoy Anne Hathaway in.
Giving my hope a little bit of support, Warner Brothers has paired up with Apple and released a seven minute clip from Get Smart via iTunes. The clip is actually a pretty substantial look at the movie. Introduced by Hathaway and Carell (who doesn’t like this clip because he looks like a bit of an idiot in it… like most of the movie I would assume), we get to see just what Carell’s character is doing in that airplane bathroom sequence that keeps showing up in all of the trailers. I have to admit a little disappointment at some elements of the scene. While the setup is good, there’s a little bit of that “inadvertent” bathroom humor that really is better than Carell. Still, I laughed more at this seven minutes than I did at all of Evan Almighty, so there’s hope that Get Smart could still be enjoyable. You need iTunes installed on your computer to take a look at the clip. Once you have that, click here to see seven minutes of Get Smart. |
