See The Fountain

Darren Aronofsky’s The Fountain may be the most eagerly anticipated, longest delayed movie that no one knows anything at all about in the history of cinema. It’s getting a little frustrating.

Aronofsky spoke with AICN about the extremely slowly gestating film and revealed that yep, it’s not getting released this fall as they’d planned. In fact, he has absolutely no idea when it will be released, but he thinks maybe they’ll be done in February and maybe they’ll release it some time in 2006. Probably. Maybe. He may be talented, but he sounds like the most incompetent, irresponsible in Hollywood. Hey Darren, quit screwing around with episodes of “Lost” and finish your damn movie! I don’t see Peter Jackson out guest-directing episodes of “CSI”. He’s finishing his damn monkey. Give that some thought.

Aronofsky’s irresponsibility aside, The Fountain looks pretty cool for a movie we know nothing about. His best description of it is that it’s a “psychedelice fairy tale,” a “love story about living forever once upon a time.” The good news is that state of ignorance and confusion regarding the movie is about to be remedied. They’re going to release the first ever Fountain teaser.

The teaser hits this Wednesday on the Apple Quicktime movie trailers page. It’ll be about 30 seconds long, so don’t expect much. Hopefully though, after all this now almost ridiculous waiting, they’ll have the sense to give us more than just a logo, or the addictive screensaver currently running on the movie’s official site.

Check back here Wednesday and at some point during the day, assuming the teaser isn’t delayed as well, we’ll have the trailer for you. Meanwhile, visit our Fountain preview for more information.
