It looks like another secret has been revealed for X-Files 2. Whether it’s a legitimate secret or something staged for the cameras is questionable, of course. After all, this is the movie that’s already spreading doctored photos around the internet in hopes of throwing online reporters off the scent of the real story, but it looks pretty authentic to me.

Celebrity Website FlyNet Online has captured some footage of the filming of X-Files 2. Along with the video are also image captures of something fans may find surprising from the filming: Mulder and Scully sharing a kiss – and not just a peck on the cheek either.

The video shows David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson on set outside a house. As cameras roll, Anderson heads for her car and is then stopped by Duchovny coming out of the building. He approaches the car, the two talk, embrace, talk some more, and then kiss.

I’d like to think this is real – we do see the camera and crew in place and they look to be working at the time. At the same time, I wouldn’t put it past Chris Carter to have fake material planned in case nosey reporters start poking around. Imagine a radio call going out: “We have a person with a handicam sneaking on set. Prep the fake kiss.” It’s not hard to believe considering what Carter and company have done so far.
