New Set Photos From Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained
When casting actors for his upcoming next project, Django Unchained, Quentin Tarantino wasn't hesitant to pick out a couple actors with a common link: the HBO series Deadwood. While none of the major actors from that show, like Timothy Olyphant or Ian McShane, are playing in the movie, both Dennis Christopher and Gerald McRaney had extended runs on the show, playing Bellegarde and George Hearst, respectively. But that's not the only link between the Tarantino film and the western television program. As reported by the Los Angeles Times, the movie is currently in production at Santa Clarita Melody Ranch, which, you guessed it, is where they did a great deal of filming for Deadwood.
Recently Garrett Dillahunt, who played Francis Wolcott on the show, took a trip up to the set of Tarantino's project (he's not in the film as far as we know) and snapped some photos, which he then sent to Twitter. Bleeding Cool spotted the shots and you can check them out below along with Dillahunt's commentary. "Visited the set of Django Unchained today....it looked familiar."
"Actually kinda choked me up a little bit... "
"It'll always be #Deadwood to me."
Django Unchained stars Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio, Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson, Kerry Washington, James Remar, Walton Goggins, Anthony LaPaglia, RZA and about a thousand other awesome actors that you've always wanted to see in a Tarantino film. Look for it in theaters on Christmas Day. |
