Chloe Sevigny is working hard on falling into a typecast. Sevigny, who starred in a scandalous leading role in The Brown Bunny will be changing over to a Russian character for her next role, according to Production Weekly.

She has signed on to work with polish filmmaker Agnieska Holland in Catherine and Peter in which Sevigny will play Catherine, “a simple maid and battlefield whore who falls in love with Tsar Peter the Great.” The movie then becomes a romance across the boundaries of social classes, eventually leading to Sevigny’s character becoming Catherine I after Peter realizes he has greater lasting power than filmmaker Vincent Gallo (director of The Brown Bunny).

The movie will film on location in Russia, Poland, and Germany, which means Sevigny is getting quite a vacation as part of the movie. There is no word what favors Catherine will have to give up to Peter the Great in return.
