Sherlock Holmes Sequel Titled Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows![]()
Yesterday's big news was that Sony's Spider-Man reboot was officially titled The Amazing Spider-Man. Really the only choice that the studio had, the title is, in many ways, perfect, as it differentiates itself from the Sam Raimi series while also hearkening back to the comic books. Today we have another official title announced, but it, sadly, isn't nearly as good. E! is reporting that the sequel to Guy Ritchie's 2009 hit Sherlock Holmes has been titled Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.
Now the only question that remains is which title is dumber: Transformers: Dark of the Moon or Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. I suppose that the strategy here is to try and prevent people from realizing that they're seeing the 20,o00th sequel of the year, but I would have been more than happy to see this film titled Sherlock Holmes 2. Now all I can think is that the plot line has something to do with Holmes playing Major League Baseball and injecting steroids into his ass (not a pleasant image). |
