ShoWest To Honor Jerry Bruckheimer![]()
THR reports today that theater owner convention ShoWest will be honoring producer Jerry Bruckheimer with a lifetime achievement award for his outstanding success in the film and television industry. ShoWest managing director Robert Sunshine, said "With billions earned worldwide at the box-office, Jerry Bruckheimer has brought outstanding entertainment to movie going audiences for four decades.”
ShoWest, is set to open March 15 at the Bally's and Paris hotels in Las Vegas. Disney has already announced plans to screen Bruckheimer's next project Prince of Persia-- along with Toy Story 3--for attendees on March 18. I most certainly tip my hat to Mr. Bruckheimer; he has produced some of the most kick ass action movies that we have ever seen. Who doesn’t enjoy films like Beverly Hills Cop, Top Gun, The Rock, Con Air and Pirates of the Caribbean, to name just a few. They may not be the deepest movies out there but they are a lot of fun to watch. Bruckheimer is considered one of the most successful producers of all time, being given the nickname "Mr. Blockbuster" due to his track record of commercially successful, high-grossing films. Overall, his films have brought in over $13 billion to Hollywood and have launched the careers of numerous actors and directors, chief among them Michael Bay. It’s no mystery why the National Association of Theatre Owners wants to celebrate his career with this award. |
