Slumdog Millionaire screenwriter Simon Beaufoy has a shiny, gold Oscar. Does he want some shiny, deadly claws to go with it? AICN has a report from a tipster who says that Beaufoy has started work on a sequel to Wolverine-- months before the movie has even been seen by audiences.
Beaufoy reportedly told an audience at the Bradford International Film Festival that he doesn't even know what a wolverine is, but his agent persuaded him to take on the project. He even said he wasn't entirely comfortable with working on a sequel to a film that hasn't even been finished yet-- surprising candor from a guy who presumably has a lot to gain from this movie being a success.
So is this tipster for real? Has Fox brought in some seriously big screenwriting guns to develop a sequel to a movie that may or may not turn out to be a hit?
