Does anyone else get the feeling that the audience for this Tintin movie Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson are working on consists of only two people? Those two people’s names are Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson. Actually, maybe we’d better add two more names to that interested in Tintin list. Pencil in two guys named Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.

According to the Timesonline Pegg has been hanging out with Steven Spielberg, and says Spielberg told him, “Hey, maybe you and Nick Frost could play the Thompson Twins,” in Tintin. Since like me you’re not one of the four people interested in this movie, you no doubt have absolutely no idea who the Thompson Twins are. Me either, but I have the internet, which helps tell me about such things.

The internet tells me that the Thompson twins are a pair of bumbling detectives in the Tintin universe. In the comics, the twins have broom mustaches and ridiculous bowler hats. Pegg and Frost should be able to pull that off, as long as Spielberg isn’t too married to the idea of them actually looking similar.
