Everybody’s out for revenge. Next up with a vengeance flick is director Bryan Singer whom EW says is considering making The Prisoners.
The script tells the story of a Boston dad who goes vigilante when his daughter is kidnapped. It sounds like a cheap knockoff of Taken but it’s being compared to Silence of the Lambs. Mark Wahlberg, who can’t hold a candle to either Liam Neeson or Anthony Hopkins, is attached to star.
For his part, Singer is undecided. With the Superman franchise languishing in a vault somewhere at Warner Bros. while they think up ways to retool it, it’s not like he has anything better going on. I like the idea of Singer doing Silence of the Lambs, even if he has to put up with Mark Wahlberg. Maybe this could work.
