It looks like Singer may not be done bulldozing X-Men in favor of his new bauble, the eminently inferior new Superman movie. Not content to throw the next X-Men project into total disarray by abandoning his directing duties on the third franchise flick, it looks like he’s started pinching X-Men cast members as well.

It’s just a wild rumor at this point, but this morning Ain’t It Cool News is reporting that X-Men’s Shawn Ashmore may be taking on the role of Jimmy Olsen for Superman I Forget if They Have a Title Yet. Ashmore won fans as Bobby Drake, aka Iceman in X2: X-Men United, and had up till now been rumored to be the only X castmate already signed for the third X-flick. No doubt he could probably do both, but I’d rather see Singer keep his mitts off my mutants.

We’re probably still a ways away from any Jimmy Olsen casting confirmation anyway. Ashmore is just one more name to throw in the mix with the already rumored Topher Grace… who to me seems a lot better for the role than Ashmore anyway.
