Sith Teaser Confirmed A couple of days ago, I told you here that the first trailer for Star Wars: Episode III would probably premiere in front of The Incredibles. I then predicted that Lucas would try to line his pockets by debuting the trailer on Hyperspace first. I’m a genius… at least when it comes to the obvious. I was right.
Lucasfilm has officially announced today that the first teaser for Revenge of the Sith will debut in theaters on November 5, and that they’ll dangle it out there on Hyperspace on November 4. Hyperspace, for those of you who aren’t regular CB readers is Lucas’ most evil innovation (yes, even more diabolical then Han shooting first). You see, he’s actually figured out a way to get people to PAY him for the privilege of being advertised to. Remember the good old days when advertisers used to pay to be allowed to advertise to you? Now you pay Lucas instead. He really is a genius. Evil, but a complete genius. It also looks like the trailer may be available online on November 4 to AOL users, but only in streaming video. There’s also word that it’ll show up that evening on TV, probably on a crappy show like Access Hollywood or Entertainment Tonight. So if you spend your time or money on really low quality rip-offs, there’s a good chance you could see the trailer early. Those of us who have to wait till November 5 will do so with a smile, secure in the knowledge that we aren’t incredibly stupid. ![]() Got questions? . SUBMIT A SCOOP |
