New Skyfall Video Blog Looks At The Costumes

When you consider James Bond's look, the costume designer's job is especially important for any of the Bond films. For the upcoming Sam Mendes-directed Skyfall, the person responsible for creating and executing Bond's look is Jany Temime. She's featured in the latest video blog for the film, which you can watch just ahead.

Jany Craig has done the costumes for a number of notable films, including most of the Harry Potter movies, Wrath of the Titans and the upcoming Alfonso Cuaron thriller Gravity. We'll also get to see her work when Skyfall hits theaters this November. 007.com posted the new video blog for the film, which gives us a few glimpses of Daniel Craig suited (and tuxed) up, in action as James Bond.

"I wanted to give the whole look a little edge, because although the suits are tailored and hand made, he should wear them with a little 2012 touch, and that's what I've been trying to do."

As is addressed in the video, the challenge of costuming a Bond film isn't merely making James Bond look great, but also dressing him so that he can move, run, shoot, and perform whatever other stunts are required of him. That apparently involves finding the right kinds of fabric, as much as it does creating "a new look to a very successful image." So it's interesting to hear what a seasoned costume designer has to say on the task, and from what we've seen of Skyfall's Bond so far, included the footage shown in the above video, it looks like Temime's getting the job done.

Skyfall arrives in theaters November 9. More information, photos and video can be found in our Blend Film Database.
