Hollywood is a harsh mistress. Don’t believe me? Just as the son of action heavyweight Sylvester Stallone.

Stallone will be returning to the screen as his famous character Rocky Balboa in the sixth installment of the Rocky series. Sly’s son, Sage Stallone, who played Rocky’s son in Rocky V will not, however, Rocky Balboa Jr. will. That’s right - Sly’s son has been outed from his dad’s movie.

Actually, that’s not fair. We don’t know for certain that Sage Stallone was outed. He may not even be interested in acting anymore. All we know is he won’t be playing the part of Rocky Jr. According to The Hollywood Reporter, that honor goes to Milo Ventimiglia, best known for a reoccurring role on “The Gilmore Girls”.

My big concern over this, which admittedly is just speculation, is that the powers that be are putting a real actor in the role with hopes of carrying Rocky Jr. into future movies, therefore keeping the franchise going past Sylvester Stallone. I really hope this isn’t the case, but never trust studios to make the right decision when there’s money available for milking.
