Alright, I'm really glad I've already seen Snakes on a Plane, because there's no way I could go see it now. A few idiots have started spreading terror at Snakes screenings, by releasing actual rattlesnakes in the theater during the film.
For me, it's my worst fears realized. I have a total fear of snakes, and though I had a lot of fun watching the movie in spite of my natural predilection for being freaked out, while watching it I have to admit that the thought that someone might have somehow released snakes in the theater during the showing. More than once I actually checked the floor. Of course I dismissed that as my snake phobia forcing irrational fears into my head, but as it turns out… not so irrational.
It happened in Arizona where AMC managers say some bastard kids let two rattlesnakes loose in an AMC theater. They slithered around under moviegoers feet in the dark. Rattlesnakes are common where I live in Texas, and whenever you hear that rattling sound most Texans know to run the hell the other way. They're deadly.
The worst thing is, that you just know now that word of this has gotten out other little punks will copycat it and try the same thing. I loved the hell out of Snakes on a Plane… but you couldn't pay me to see it now. If they thought their first week box office totals were disappointing, just wait for week two after word of this gets out.

Police now say it wasn't a prank, but that the snake found in the theatre likely found it's own way in.
