While MTV broadcasts consistently terrible music and even worse reality shows, they do have one redeeming quality: "Liquid Television". Aeon Flux began as a recurring segment on the show, developed into its own series, and has now been granted a great big Hollywood movie in its honor.

Aeon Flux takes place 400 years in the future, focusing on a protected city-state, Bregna, that is the only place on earth not yet wiped out by disease. How's that for an optimistic view of the future? Aeon Flux (Theron) discovers a lot more than she bargains for, when she is sent out to assassinate a government leader. The film also stars Frances McDormand, Johnny Lee Miller, and Sophie Okonedo. Karyn Kusama will direct the feature.

The highly antipicated action-adventure film, which hits theaters this year, has some new images on display for your viewing pleasure, thanks to UIP. Many of them look like they were taken right out of a Matrix video game knock-off or Kill Bill. Others feature Charlize in tight black leather, resembling a cross between Catwoman and a dominatrix. As long as she doesn't look like Aileen Wournos (Monster), I doubt anyone is complaining.
