Paramount is getting into the ghost business with writer Misha Green, but good luck scaring up and specific details on their collaboration.

The Sons of Anarchy writer has sold an untitled teen ghost story to the studio, according to Variety, though the logline is being kept secret for the time being. The trade did say that Francis Lawrence, director of I Am Legend and, more recently, the literary adaptation of Water for Elephants, would helm the project for producers Tim Kring and Erwin Stoff.

The project isn’t listed on Lawrence’s IMDB page, though the database does say that he and Kring recently collaborated on a one-hour TV show for FOX titled Touch, starring Kiefer Sutherland and Danny Glover in the story of an autistic child with the ability to predict the future. It sounds like these two found a creative vibe and will continue to explore it with the as-yet-untitled ghost project.

The word “teen” also trips me up. Does this mean we’re looking at a ghost franchise that would like to pick up some of the Twilight crowd when that franchise fades away? Is this going to be another I Am Number Four, or can Lawrence and Kring juice up a new series that’s smart enough to entertain all ages? We’ll report more once we’ve unearthed a few more details.
