One of the action movie’s most under-appreciated faces may soon be teaming up with one of the genre’s biggest faces. Michael Jai White, who was masked in Spawn and cut completely from Kill Bill is negotiating for a role in the upcoming sci-fi thriller The Surrogates, which features John McClane himself, Bruce Willis, in the leading role.

The movie is a Jonathan Mostow production (Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines) which takes place in a future where people rarely interact directly anymore, preferring instead to act through the use of robot surrogates. Willis plays a cop who is forced to leave his home for the first time in years to investigate when surrogates wind up being killed.

Moviehole brings the news to the net, although there’s no word about what role Michael Jai White would be playing. Hopefully it’ll be a part large enough to keep the actor from winding up on the cutting room floor and one that will give him the chance to showcase his action chops.
