Paul Giamatti's Barney's Version is shaping up to be pretty odd and fascinating. In addition to starring Giamatti as a guy who spends his life going through three marriages and all kinds of adventures, the film is gaining an impressive supporting cast. Minnie Driver, Rosamund Pike and Rachelle Lefevre signed on last week, and now the male contingent is coming in, with Scott Speedman and Bruce Greenwood joining as well.
According to Variety, Speedman will play the close friend whose disappearance is linked to Barney, while Greenwood plays a rival in love. Both of these actors are welcome pretty much wherever they pop up, and especially as part of a film that has so much potential to be weird and fun. Filming starts in rome on August 17.
