It only surfaced in the trades two weeks ago that Inside Man 2 was definitely on track, so you can't blame Spike Lee for not having too many details about the project yet. But when he was asked about the project during a press conference earlier this week for Miracle at St. Anna, he guaranteed fans that the sequel to his most financially successful movie would not be half-assed.

"If the script is not better than the first one, myself, Denzel Washignton, Jodie Foster, Clive Owen-- we said we're not doing it," Lee said, as he signed autographs for journalists not above being starstruck. I like the idea of the four of them sitting down in the room, agreeing not to make a bad movie, then throwing all their hands in the middle for a group cheer. I doubt that's what happened, but I'm still just grateful that they're committed to making another quality thriller. Miracle at St. Anna is oddball epic that only a few critics (myself included) have liked, but that doesn't mean Lee won't be able to turn in an Inside Man 2 that's as good as the first.
