There’s a rumor going around that Martin Scorsese has offered Sylvester Stallone a part in his next movie Shutter Island. Well it’s a load of bull.
It’s currently being perpetuated by the guys over at AICN, and they don’t cite a source for it. But I know their source. Earlier this week an anonymous email was sent around to several different film sites, including ours. The email claimed to be from Yahoo Movies, and listed this story as their top scoop, along with several older stories which had already been confirmed by other sources. As a source the email cited The Hollywood Reporter.
The email was a fake. It wasn’t from Yahoo, it was merely designed to look like it was from Yahoo. There is no such story on The Hollywood Reporter.
We were immediately suspicious, so we contacted representatives for Mr. Scorsese and Mr. Stallone to verify that the email and its rumor were as baseless as they seemed. We have yet to hear back from Stallone’s representatives, but we received swift responses back from several members of Martin Scorsese's publicity and management team, all of whom very clearly confirmed that the rumor was “totally false”.
Sly Stallone has not been offered a part in Shutter Island, he has nothing to do with Shutter Island, and the rumor, as far as we can tell, is an obvious and easily unmasked hoax. Let’s throw this one out with the trash.
Comment on “Stallone For Shutter Island Rumor Is A Hoax!”

Still, I would love to see Stallone picking up more meaty and less beefy roles, if you know what I mean. More serious acting because he's more than capable of it.
I keep harping on about Cop Land whenever I write about Stallone, and I'm not going to be any different here. That really showed how much there is to Stallone and he never gets credited with it, and never mind all the writing he's done.
