One more actor has beamed on to the new Star Trek movie. Variety says Clifton Collins Jr. is aboard.
Clifton is playing, basically, Eric Bana’s lackey. Eric Bana is already locked in to star as the movie’s villain, a guy named Nero who we suspect will probably be a Romulan. Clifton will be a character named Ayel, and one of Eric Bana’s bad guy cohorts. Clifton Collins Jr. was last seen filling a bit part in the confused multiple stories movie Babel. More notably though, he played imprisoned killer Perry Smith in the 2005 flick Capote.
Variety has also confirmed the rumor being circulated yesterday regarding the casting of Jim Kirk’s father. It seems Chris Hemsworth does indeed have the part of George Kirk.
