Star Wars: Episode VII Script Page Leaked, Doctor Who's Matt Smith Rumored For A Role

Jason Flemyng Star Wars

Jason Flemyng is probably best known to film fans for his supporting roles in movies like Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch., Kick-Ass and X-Men: First Class, but now there's a good chance that he'll henceforth be known as "that guy who Tweeted out an image of the Star Wars: Episode VII script." Earlier today the English actor posted the above image on Instagram (via Bleeding Cool) with the caption, "Pint of Stella and "Star Wars" script! That’s me sorted till 5!", and while the photo has since been deleted from his feed, we all know nothing can really be permanently deleted from the internet.

The unfortunate side of this story is that it really doesn't give us any new info about the next Star Wars film. Black text on red is pretty damn hard to read by itself - which I'm pretty sure is the point - but the page is also out of focus and the image is distorted by a filter. The only thing we can really take away from this photo is that there's a part in the movie that Flemyng believes he is a good match for - and considering he's a 6'1", middle aged white male that's really not much to work with.

That report isn't the only Star Wars: Episode VII story that's going around, however. Bleeding Cool is also adding to the endless number of audition stories we've heard in the last couple months by saying that Matt Smith, the actor best known for playing the 11th incarnation of The Doctor on Doctor Who, has met with people close to the production of the new Star Wars movie about a possible role. Details about who he met with and what potential role he would play remain unclear, but it would certainly be big news among sci-fi fans to see world's colliding.

Smith is almost exclusively known for his work on the small screen, but he could wind up getting his big break next year starring in the feature film How To Catch A Monster, Ryan Gosling's directorial debut. In the movie he will star alongside Christina Hendricks, Saoirse Ronan, Eva Mendes and Ben Mendelsohn. Warner Bros. is attached to release the film here in the United States, but they haven't announced a release date yet.

The casting process for Star Wars is all but guaranteed to continue for at least a few more weeks if not a few more months, as production on the movie isn't scheduled to start until next spring. Abrams will be directing from a script that he co-wrote with Lawrence Kasdan (replacing Michael Ardnt, who wrote the first draft), and Disney has announced that the finished product will be in theaters on December 18th. In the meantime, would you like to see either Flemyng or Smith wind up with roles in Star Wars: Episode VII? Hit the comments and tell us what you think.
