MOVIE NEWS
Starscream Speaks!![]()
For those of you not paying attention, the latest fad in movie marketing is the viral website. At it's laziest, the movie makers will create MySpaces for the characters in the movie they're pushing, while others go all out and create fake websites for fake companies that appear in their movie. Kinda like 'Lost' did with the whole Dharma Experiment thing.
Well, Transformers has had one of it's own for a while called SectorSeven.org and it has featured everything from some pretty shoddy camcorder shot clips of people being kidnapped and interrogated by shady government types, to fake clips of Grimlock (looking a lot more like a Transformer than the actual Transformers from the movie) trashing a construction site. The latest release from them is an audio clip of Starscream plotting his evil conniving plan. To be honest, I don't know what to think if it. The fans will be pissed off because, well despite sounding rather distorted and electronic initially, the clip then clears up to have him speaking in a nice clear human voice. Robots with lips and no electronic resonance to their voice is yet another kick to the collective nads of the fans. The good news for fans I suppose is that, out of context at least, the voice does sound more like it belongs in a cartoon that a movie and does probably sound as close to the character as you can get without the level of campiness the original contained. Listen to the clip below and judge for yourselves. |
