In incredibly obvious casting choices, it looks like Paul “Not the Good One” W.S. Anderson is trying to cast Jason Statham in his remake of Death Race 2000, appropriately called Death Race 3000.

The casting scoop comes from the spicy fellows over at the Latino Review where they say Statham is in negotiations for the part. The odd thing is that as far as we can tell Death Race 3000 isn’t even Anderson’s new movie. Despite rumors to the contrary, Castlevania will still be his next film, which makes you wonder why he’s not busy casting that instead of this.

But then it’s not like Anderson’s movies are all that complicated. Producing them both at the same time shouldn’t be much of a problem. In fact, if he’s busy on another movie and some second Assistant Director has to take over while he’s off having drinks with Jason Statham, it’s only going to improve the end product. Let’s hope Statham keeps him out really late.
