Step Into The Umbra With Roger Donaldson
The Bank Job was a quiet success last spring, earning positive reviews and a decent $30 million at the box office-- and a role for Jason Statham that didn't require him to act blatantly stupid. Now that movie's director Roger Donaldson will be trying to thrill us all again with Umbra, a psychological thriller he's developing at Relativity Media. Variety isn't giving away any information on the project other than that it's a "paranoid thriller."
"Umbra" means "shadow" in Latin, and could conceivably serve as a decent title for any group of generic baddies. The project is based on an original screenplay by Steven Karcyznski, which is encouraging-- at least it's not yet another Robert Ludlum adaptation.
