Steven Spielberg Developing Ideas For Jurassic Park 4![]()
I'm just going to lay it flat: we don't need a Jurassic Park 4. Hell, we didn't even need a Jurassic Park 3. Still, there have been whisperings of another sequel in the air for years now and until everyone in the world decides that they actively hate dinosaurs (not gonna happen) the rumors will continue. You know what's not helping things in any way shape or form? Steven Spielberg trying to develop ideas for another movie.
According to THR, the multiple Oscar winning director has begun meeting with screenwriter Mark Protosevich (Poseidon, I Am Legend) to develop a story for another installment in the franchise. Both Universal and Spielberg's people were contacted for comment and while they didn't refute the rumor, they did stress that there is now script being written and that the meetings are simply "exploratory." The last time Spielberg and Protosevich worked together was on the proposed remake of Chan-wook Park's Oldboy, but that project fell apart last November. I truly pray that this project doesn't go anywhere. The only thing we need less in this world than a Jurassic Park 4 is an Indiana Jones 5, and if they are dead-set on making that movie, the least Spielberg can do is let Jurassic Park rest in peace. The original is one of those rare special effects movies that has actually managed to still look amazing after nearly 20 years. There's no reason to try and ruin that. |
