I know a lot of people like Zoolander, but I’ve never gotten into it. It’s just one of those cult favorites that I haven’t been interested in following. It has its audience though, and they’ll be happy to hear that writer/director/actor Ben Stiller is interested in returning to the spy-model world with a sequel.

The good news is that it doesn’t look like Stiller is just leaping into the idea of a sequel, having assessed a few scripts before approving anything. Stiller told WENN, “I’ve been trying to get Zoolander 2 together and we’ve had a few scripts. I feel that is the sequel I really would like to do some day because I like the original and I would make sure it was something new and worthy of it first.” That said, Stiller says he’s close to a deal for the sequel.

As I said, I wasn’t into the first one, so I can’t get terribly excited about a second picture. How about those fans of Zoolander out there though - are you interested in seeing Derek Zoolander return to the runway?
