The more I see of Meet the Robinsons, the gladder I am that this will be Disney’s last CGI movie without the help of Pixar. My initial willingness to give it a shot has turned into the absolute certainty that it’s going to be utter shit.
It’s the frogs. It’s the goddamn frogs. Disney’s marketing execs are shoving them down our throats like they’re the greatest thing ever, and really they’re just incredibly lame. It’s like they’re grasping at straws, desperately trying to find some cutesy little character to get kids interested in their upcoming toy marketing line rather than trying to actually get people to see the movie. The whole thing just makes me sick.
These latest pics from the film haven’t helped. Disney just sent me a bunch of new posters and character stills, and while I am incredibly grateful to them for sending them my way, I have to be honest about how I feel about them. They look like um… yuck. Sorry guys, I wish I could say something good about them or the movie. I really do. I tried to give it a shot. Really I did.
